(54 years) with a very diverse selection - from Primitive furniture to very fine China and Glassware. We were noted in the July 2006 issue ofCountry Living. In another building, Walt's workshop contains automobilia - gasoline globes and pumps, Michigan license plates, advertising, slot machines and more. Walt does seven shows a year and is well known through-out the US for his pristine stock and fair prices.
Although we continue to be in business, our Antique Shop with five acres is for sale or Lease ! Inventory optional.
Old Barn Antiques
There are three floors in our 1910 BARN - filled to over-flowing. Crocks, Fruit jars, Iron cookware. Toys and dolls. Books and postcards in categories for your convenience. Tools. Kerosene Lamps. Limoges, RS Prussia, Transferware. Pattern, depression and 'elegant' glass. Spongeware, spatterware, flow blue, ironstone. Kitchenwares, including treen. The upper floor is filled with vintage clothes; including children's, plus quilts and textiles. Furniture - primitive to Walnut.Basically you will find 'area antiques', dating from 1840's to 1940's, no imports. Walt's specialty is Gas Station related articles located in his garage/workshop: Gas pumps, gas pump globes, advertising signs, license plates, etc. However, he has a wide interest, so expect to see slot machines, cash registers, Indian artifacts, insulators, and who knows what next!
Walt and Susan's OLD BARN ANTIQUES - open 10-5:30, except for winter months (Jan., Feb and March usually closed). Sunday is by chance or appointment.
To find us - take M-37 north from Traverse City (Old Mission Peninsula) for eight (8) miles. Turn west on Nelson Rd. We are about 1/2 mile down the road. Don't miss Walt's work shop next door.
